ABOUT ME
Ms. Washington’s background includes performing and teaching in the styles of tap, jazz, ballet, lyrical contemporary, pom, and hip-hop. She studied dance in Charlotte, NC for 14 years prior to college, and competed in the styles of tap, jazz, lyrical, and hip hop for 12 years. Ms. Washington was a member of the Spartan G's Dance Team all 4 years of college and became a captain her senior year. During the summer of 2015, she was awarded the opportunity to dance abroad for renowned choreographer Jacqulyn Bulgisi in Umbria, Italy. She has taught dance classes and dance camps at local YMCA’s during high school and college summer breaks. While in college she was selected to teach for a non-profit organization that offered dance for students K-12. She also taught recreational and pre-competition technique classes at Pointe South Dance and Tumble and Carolina Dance Capital. Her last semester of college she completed her student teaching in dance in Kernersville, NC, where she choreographed for their high school musical and final dance showcase. EDUCATION
Ms. Washington graduated from The University of North Carolina at Greensboro in 2016, where she received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Dance with a concentration in K-12 dance studies. |
